Dear Everyone,
My lab results just came through earlier on this month and I am somewhat confused with the readings.Before we go onto it, let me provide you with a few other details;
I am a Male of 30 yrs old. I weigh 69 kg and my height is 5ft 7 (172 cm). I am considered to be 'Healthy'' as per my BMI
I eat a low fat/non-starchy well balanced meal throughout the day although I limit my carb intake for Diner. I get most of my carbs via fruits which I consume during day-time.
My blood pressure is normal (118/81)
I exercise moderately for around 45 minutes 6 times a day
Diagnosed Type 2: July 2010
Treatment: Diet and Exercise only
Now, coming onto my blood results which was done earlier on this month;
Triglycerides: 0.8 mnol/l
Total Cholesterol: 4.2 mnol/l
HBA1C: 5.7 mnol/l
12 hr overnight Fasting (water only)Glucose/blood sugar level: 6.3 mnol/l
I am concerned over my fasting blood glucose figure and cant understand why it is somewhat elevated when the fact it that my HBA1C is 5.7!As far as I am aware, no matter what I consumed 12 hours prior to the test is not meant to affect the readings if everything was normal with me. It appears that I have glucose intolerance but if that is truly the case, how come my HBA1C level is within the normal range? My GP hasn't called me to express any concerns but the reading of 6.3 mnol/l is giving me lots of worries!
I would be very grateful to get your comments on my situation.
Thanking you in advance for your kind advices.
