my fasting test was 103 at doc office since then i been doing home test my fasting is around 177-128 after eating around 147-154 the nurse told me on the phone doc says to start a diabetic diet im not really sure if he thinks im diabetic or not it runs inmy family and i also have lots of frequent urination
 
Often a doc will get you to do a 'healthy diet' for 3 months before doing an HBa1C blood test whcih he will probably use to diagnose you (or not) as a diabetic. Follow the advice on this forum to try to get your blood sugar down e.g. high-fibre and low-GI carbs and not too many. Do get hold of a meter so you can see what foods affect you most and by how much. The GPs like to get you onto a 'good' diet before deciding what medication if any you need and to confirm diagnosis
