hi i was diagnosed in january with a hbc1a level of 46 no medication just diet control at mo but lately my sugars are all over the place no matter what i eat i can be high then go low then high again test my blood sugar this morning 2 hours after eating 2 weetabix with milk and i was 9.7 is that good or high i cant seem to get my head around this and everytime i go to the dr i get told im doing fine next time we test you you might not be diabetic why put the willeys up someone if its not bad and i have had not much help as to what im doing or eatting hence the confusion can someone please help before i lose control x :?
 
Target blood glucose levels for people with type 2 diabetes are: - 4 to 7 mmol/l before meals and when fasting - 4 to 8.5 mmol/l 2 hours following meals
from the "newly diagnosed" section.

So your 9.7 is a bit high, but a meal of weetabix (starch) and milk (sugar solution) is high in carbohydrates and probably a "worst case". See how it looks after bacon and egg for comparison :wink:

The 46 result is close to the target for T2, slightly below, so you're average blood sugar isn't too bad.

Try to reduce the amount of starch, sugar, bread, pasta, sweet fruits etc and see which things give greater or lower increases in blood sugar.
