So I did have a am I "really" diabetic moment when first diagnosed as my levels were low, but I've come to accept it untill today lol just heard my step father is in hospital and the took his bloods Nd have told him his reading was 7.4 I think the next time it had gone up to 9.6 and they have told him he is borderline, yet my highest was 8.3 fasting with a hc1ap ?sp lol of 6.5% now I'm unsure weather his readings were the fasting ones or the other since it changed I would say other but either way his results are higher then mind yet he Is borderline and I am diabetic ? Strange how it works eh

Don't let it worry you, Hevab. As you say, you don't know whether he was fasting or not, or when or what he'd eaten, and stress puts up BG levels anyway. Maybe 'they' were allowing for that. I agree though, it is confusing.

Best to wait 'til he's out of hospital and discuss it with him then. Get the GP to test him to relieve both your minds. He might be either side of 'borderline'. I'm afraid you're still diabetic! .
