thats a bad problem to have ... do you eat yougurt ? if so try this Psyllium two spoonfulls mixed nto the yougurt maybe also mix Little Water in so it is not too thick to eat... and after drink a big cup of Water .... do that once a day preferably in the morning or at mid day .... and that will give you the release you need
you can also mix it in some juice and drink it , but juice is not good for diabetes. or you can it it in some artificially sweetened lemonade

Definitely ask the pharmacist. They will know straight away. I've used sugar free candyrock but only because I know it loosens things up but only as a one off. Constant constipation should be mentioned to a medic for long term help.
I know I've gone from loose tummy on metformin to no metformin to XL metformin to constipation with co-codamol but spacing them out more helps.
Water also relieves any constipation my 9yr old ever gets but not sure whether a long term solution.
So Vitamin C or Psyillium husk seems to be the answer. Amazon is about to get some business from me. Off to order Psyillium.Psyillium husk works perfectly for me. I just mix it with water and drink it straight down.. QUICKLY ! Then another glass of water straight after. It's a bit like wallpaper paste .. yuk ! but it works gently and effectively.
Canagliflozin gave me a blockage on the 2nd attempt of trying to prevent thrush as the side affect. I did inform my specialist of this and my gp for it to be logged. I wasn't on metformin at that stage of treatment. Others on dapagliflozin didn't get blockage just thrush and water infections.Yes, my husband was suggesting that I talk to the ever-so-polite (not) pharmacist at our health clinic pharmacy. I have been on metformin and have been though plenty of loose tummy moments. When I started these medications in Aug this year (in addition to the metformin) I was still experiencing them. Just wondering if the BP medications and Jardiance are adding to the problem.
and from what I recall don't stray to far from the toilet?Might be worth checking out with your GP who may prescribe Fybogel (aka Ispagula Husk) There are flavoured versions too, Orange is most commonly prescribed, and, I think, there is a Lemon/Lime flavoured one too. When you add water, stir well and drink straight away. If you leave it, it goes like wallpaper paste as DaisyDuk said above
