Rude people! Not being able to do the things I want to do.
Why don't you sit down together and make a list of all the things he/she likes then see if you can modify them to suit.that way they have imput into the recipes and are more likely to eat them!

Thanks Sue, the trouble is he has gone off so much food in the last month since he was diagnosed it's making me worried. He has eaten Rice Krispies as his fail-safe but even they now are 'tasting odd' to him. The only other thing he seems happy to eat is Chicken Fajitas with a good helping of Nachos on the side. I can't even tempt him with a good old roast any more. He's not a big bread or potato eater and doesn't really do rice either, so I thought a cookbook might get us both out of this rut!

Kind regards

Have you mentioned this'tasting odd' to his doctor/nurse? What medications is he on? Sometimes a side effect of meds is an altered taste sensation.

No I haven't mentioned it but I will tell her tonight when she rings. He is on 4u Lantus/glargine at night. We have Novorapid on standby to correct him if he gets high sugar readings but currently he isn't needing it.

Kind regards

My daughter is 9 and the complete opposite to you son she doesn't stop eating. We have tried substituting sugar with candarel but found it just doesn't work. So we have adapted out cake/ biscuit recepies by simply halving all sugar. She can't even tell the difference.

Happy cooking
