Once you can see how you react to various foods you can stop testing. In three months I have used just about 100 strips, as once I checked on the foods I knew stopped weightloss and found that there was a 100% correlation between them and high blood sugar, I could eliminate them, then I did not need to test after lunch as I eat the same sort of thing each day - salad with some sort of protein, and then it was just a matter of testing after dinner to see what was what there. Now I usually test two hours after dinner to see if I should eat some berries and cream or not, or if I should resist the siren call of the grapes.
Type twos aren't juggling with injections, and usually don't need to be concerned about hypos, so constant testing isn't essential.
