Morning! There is no question of food or the thought of it making me feel sick, seems to happen after and it's kinda just a dull pukey feeling really, not pleasant but nothing I cannot handle at the moment. Sugars not raised enough to cause that I wouldn't of thought, as people have said...they are not THAT bad...least my highest has been 7 and that started to come down again..I mean post meal I know that's ok..I just hate seeing anything around the 7's..told ya obsessive!
I don't know what has caused my pain to ease as much as it has..I mean it's not gone gone but normally I am debilitated on the sofa for a good portion of the month and chewing pills like they are smarties....last couple of months..since doing this way of eating...a couple of paracetamol, the occasional NSAID and I am able to carry on as normal..thought it was a fluke before but am thinking now no....a lot to do with no wheat maybe and therefore reduced inflammation! Who knows! Am now reading a thing about not eating diary..which would mean no morning coffee...no cream...oh my! I think I will stick with what I have less it is gonna start to not work.
So have you totally cured your arthhur's right A**e then? That is pretty **** immense! Go you!!! xxx
If it's twins, promise to name one after me
Seriously though, I have seen that you have been doing so well since I joined the forum and you seem to be doing all the right things. I can only dream of hitting your numbers, but I won't obsess about them, just like you won't
A question from out of the blue that maybe someone like @AndBreathe could answer; Could too much fat in the diet be a cause of nausea?
I agree with the saturated and NEVER anything fried in junk oil or cooked in grease. I too stick with avocado, olive oil, nuts and seeds. Mayo too but it's usually diluted with mustard or hot sauce.Too much saturated fat for me definitely upsets my stomach both making me feel sickly and sluggish - I am better with fats from a small amount of nuts avocado and good oils - even then I have to monitor them as too much increases my weight.
I have always called it healthy fats rather than high fats - I eat to my meter and my scales to get the balance of my macro nutrients - it's different for everyone of us which is why testing is invaluable to educate ourselves on what our bodies need to work best
Which fatty acids are glycerol? Or is it in all fats? Saturated fats definatley raise me and keep me higher longer. Olive oil and mayo seems to have no effect. Avocado will keep me steady and nuts if not moderated raise meYes! I always cringe slightly when there's so many references to LCHF. It is only my personal opinion but for me high fat means feeling yugh because my stomach can't . . . . . . well, stomach fat, possibly because of the number of years on low fat. Also I gain weight. Diet for me has two aims, keep BG down and maintain or better still, lose weight.
I have also noted an increase in BG if I eat too much fat and I know there are several other forum members who experience the same.
The saturated and unsaturated fats in your diet consist of two substances bound together: glycerol and fatty acids. During digestion, they're separated, and each one follows a different path. Glycerol is easily metabolized and used to make glucose. Fatty acids are carried to tissues throughout your body, where they help build cell walls, produce hormones and digest fat-soluble nutrients. Fatty acids can be converted into another substance called acetyl CoA, which is used to create energy, but they’re not turned into glucose.
I had this is one of my saved info folders, unfortunately lost the reference, however, The Joslin Diabetes Centre says something similar at: http://blog.joslin.org/2011/09/why-does-fat-increase-blood-glucose/
And most consider those 800 cal fat bombs are 'fasting'. Coconut oil makes me sick, literally. I like a little butter occasionally but it needs to be Kerry gold haha. A pound of butter would last me over a year. I stick with a little lemon, garlic or basil Evoo drizzled over my chopped salads and a slice of avocado for most meals. A few nuts in between.I've always thought that trying to encourage people to try a Low Carb diet/lifestyle by adding the words High Fat rather self defeating.
Reading all the nonsense about Fat Bombs and such like makes me feel nauseous even without eating the stuff
Even though I low carb at about 80g carb a day I stick to 1300 cals max - my average macros come up very different to yours and are quite evenly spreadI agree with the saturated and NEVER anything fried in junk oil or cooked in grease. I too stick with avocado, olive oil, nuts and seeds. Mayo too but it's usually diluted with mustard or hot sauce.
Can I ask what your general macro ratios are? I'm 80 fat 15 protein and 5 carb
Which fatty acids are glycerol?
I think avocados are natures fat bomb. If you like them they are probably the best LCHF food there is.That's what my avocado does! Steady burn and squashes cravings. Best fuel ever
Yup yup yup. Cannot do without. Glad in not the only one!I think avocados are natures fat bomb. If you like them they are probably the best LCHF food there is.
Actually I detest them, keep trying new ways to eat them but nope. I want to like them because I know how good they are for me and this way of eating. Kristin you have converted my mind but not my mouth lol.Yup yup yup. Cannot do without. Glad in not the only one!
