Hello. This may seem a silly question so apologies before I ask. I am a t2 diabetic. Usually my glucose levels are between 5 and 7. Today I have been feeling very anxious and very shaky. My legs and feet have been tingling, like an electric current. I tested my blood and it was 9. This was 3 hours after my breakfast. Could the sugar level be causing the anxiety and tingling or is it the anxiety and tingling which is causing the high glucose level or are they probably unconnected? Thank you for reading this.

The first question is: what did you have for breakfast?
And the second question: How long afterwards did you test?
And the third & fourth: Hands clean? Did you re-test to check?
That's enough questions.
Except ...
Has something caused your anxiety, or did it happen out of the blue? Stress can raise BS levels, I believe.
I have some neuropathy in my feet which doesn't change with blood sugar levels.
I'll shut up now.

@DeejayR thank you for the reply. I had raspberries and Greek yoghurt which I have nearly every day. I had washed my hands before testing. I had eaten breakfast 3 hours before testing. I had only tested when I did because I felt dreadful. I realise that in the scheme of things my level wasn't high but it was higher than I had had before, in a year. I was just curious to find out if the level and the sensation were possibly connected.

OK, so it's not likely to be what you ate and I have to pass on this. I hope you're feeling better now and also that someone with experience of this can shed light on it.
All the best.

My feet are permanently warm and often tingle. I feel as if I'm walking on cobbles, even when I'm lying down. It's not on my surgery's list of symptoms they can act on so I've got used to it. I just plan to eat sensibly so it doesn't progress. I'm old so anything odd I can put down to senility and feel better.
