Hi guys

I read that there is a counterregulatory hormones that works as defense mechanisms, and this defense system will wake a a diabetic if he has a hypo during his sleep. and if a a diabetic had many many hypos for many years during his sleep he will not be able to wake up before hypo occur. is that true? and if it's true if the person avoid these hypo for a period of time does his sense of hypo while sleeping may come back?

Sort of, yes. Though it can take quite a lot to wake you if hypo while sound asleep, as I know to my cost. I'm now using an alarm (libre + miaomiao) - which seems to work.

I think the hypo awareness thing is related to hypos generally, not specifically while asleep.
