I have been reducing carbs and lost 3 stones, but haven't lost any weight for a few weeks (haven't gained any though) so am going to start counting carbs. I know if I eat a slice of wholemeal bread or fruit I have to count the carbs, but, do I also have to count the carbs of salad and green vedg.? I estimate I have been eating between 100g and 150g of carbs so far and am going to start counting at about 80g a day with a view to lower that if needed. I need to lose another 2 stones to reach my BMI. My BG varies between 4+ to 5+ with up to 7.0 2 hrs after some meals, but last evening I weakened and took 3 bites of carrot cake (then started to feel dizzy) so stopped, but when I took my BG after 2 hrs it had shot up to 10.1, my highest ever!! This morning it was back down to 5.5 thankfully. Lastly, I am having a few days off Metformin so that I can go shopping over the weekend. I can't leave the house when taking them (the SR type) because I get such painful wind and need to stay near to the bathroom. But I really need to get to the shops ASAP!!
