    Indeed, the basic delivery mechanism and the basic techniques of using mRNA fragments to wake up the host immune response was demonstrated in 2015. What was being waited on was the actual RNA particular to Covid to personalise the vaccine and to do the Stage 1 and Stage 2 trials to show it worked on animals and was safe in a small pilot study for basic safety. The effort to get authorisation and appropriate funding was solved in record time so the science could proceed at top speed.
