Just out of interest has anyone with T1D been tested for Coxsackie virus B?
And if they did was it positive? I’ve been reading many articles online and there seems to be some sort of link between Coxsackie virus B and type 1 diabetes.
For anyone interested:

The CVB4 virus is a mostly asymptomatic virus that has a considerable link to type 1 diabetes. I cannot quote the exact line but the virus is said to release a protein which is similar to GAD which triggers an immune response, antibodies made against the virus’ proteins also destroy GAD hence why doctors use anti-GAD antibodies test to differentiate between T1 and T2. The body then makes the error of destroying pancreatic beta cells because they produce a similar protein named GAD.
Just wondered if anyone actually tested positive for this virus? I am aware that it is a combination of genetic predisposition and an environmental trigger but it’s interesting to read about it
