CPeptide Readings

so we were told to go for c peptide test as that is used to differentiate between Type 1 and Type 2. Our readings are
Insulin - 69 pmol/L
C Peptide - 699 pmol/L

We have no idea what the Normal readings should be but these are low as suggested by our nurse and she in turn checked with a consultant.
Can someone suggest what is the normal range for insulin and c Peptide please. We just want to establish how bad these are for us.
GP says he will treat us a T2 for now but has booked an appointment with a consultant.

thankyou. the test result said " low insulin level for Blood Glucose". Now I am not sure if that means once the BG level goes down the Insulin level is ok ? OR does it say insulin level is low so we are more of type 1 than type 2?
Waiting for an appointment with a consultant...
 
As your GP is continuing to treat you as T2 but has booked an appointment with a consultant, all you can do is hang on in there and continue doing what you have been doing (low carb) and wait. One thing though, if you obtain a print out of the results or have on-line access to test results, it may give the correct reference ranges. They usually do. Insulin should read at the lower end on a fasting test - that is desirable for a T2. What you don't want is high insulin, which sadly is the cause of insulin resistance and in the end, diabetes T2. I know nothing about c-peptide, but if those reference ranges @andcol gave are correct, then all seems well, at least for now. Did you also have a GAD antibodies test?

Thanks @Bluetit1802 . you are right we need to wait for the appointment with consultant. tehre are no reference ranges on the test results which is why we are slightly confused. the note from the consultant on the record says we are "insulin deficient" and not "insulin dependent" so kind of in the middle. No GAD test for us.
