Cravings

I would be exactly the same if I had stuff like sweets etc around the house, so to avoid the temptation I ensure that none are kept in the house. My wife likes the occasional sweet snack, but she never keeps a supply in the house or eats any in front of me.
If I really get a craving I cant shift from my mind, I raid the fridge for a semi dried prune or two ...never more that two as I know how quickly they will cause adverse consequences if two becomes three or four :shock: :wink:

As with any addiction you just can't afford to give in to it. :evil:

Don't have anything like that in the house or within reach and keep well away from all sources of temptation. Make sure that friends and family are highly aware of the importance of helping you in this. :!:

Hard but necessary.

if you check your BG, that will remind you why you are not eating that stuff.One technique some people have used successfuly, is to brush their teeth . or chew some sugar free gum.

Temptation will always be there but your foot or eyesight won't be if you keep giving in. What is more important? I work in a place where people eat "bad" stuff the whole time and it's there for all. To not feel left out I make diabetic friendly cakes, muffins, bread etc and have to hand walnuts, pork scratchings, cheese i.e. Low carb things. Do you like jelly? What about making the sugar free ones? Lovely - in fact note to self make one later. As a minority type 2 who fights to keep weight on I also have the luxury of letting it half set, beating up some cream and then mixing together. If I make the raspberry one I also mix in some berries. I'm learning to think differently as a db.

Since taking acai berry supplements (get them on ebay.co.uk) my sweet tooth and all my old cravings have disappeared. Worth a try IMHO
