Hello,

I know it is the weekend but please could somone tell me if it's ok to have coffee on low carb also may I have double cream and a spoonfull of xylitol in it?
I do not want to make mistakes and spoil my low carbing so thought I would check first.
thanks carole :?

Hi Carole, sorry I cant answer but I just wanted to say I hope the coffee with cream is ok as I really do enjoy it..

Have a lovely day, I am just getting reading to go to bed...it is freezing here.

Warm regards

Sandra

Coffee and cream is ok, just had one myself :D

How does xylitol affect you? Have you tested afterwards? It gives some people quite a spike, although it has no impact on me and I use it when I'm baking.

I found very quickly on low carb that things became simply too sweet for me (my downfall has always been savoury). If you can wean yourself off sweeteners, that would be for the best because they can trigger carb cravings.

I've had about 3 cups of coffee with cream so far today.and I like Xylitol as a sweetener. I've put some on the mixed berries I'm having for dessert soon. Roast lamb first!

Thank you for the replys.

I do enjoy my coffee and cream with xylitol fortunately it suits me well and I use it on things like raspberries
and rhubarb, things that are a little sharp. I am very pleased that all is ok I get worried when I see all of the calories in the cream
but it is working for me so far this low carb diet.
I miss the starches like most but there is so much one can eat that I feel with the help of all on this site and the lovely recipes that I will get there in the end.I even had a free monitor given to me by hal that I have found invaluable and at last feel that i have more control with my type 2.
(my Doctor does not believe in anyone being in control hence their policy of no free monitors or prescriptions)
I wish everyone all success with controlling their own diabetes and thank you once again for your support.
carole  :D :D
