Hi, I just went to Asda to get Greek yoghurt and cream. I read that cream has no carbs somewhere but the cream at asda has them! And oh so many kinds of cream, squirting, whipping, double, single!! It's almost like 50 shades of cream!! And then the yoghurt...Greek style or or just Greek. I came away empty handed as I hadn't a clue which kind of either I should get. Can someone please clarify for me, you may tell ive not had much experience with either product

Fage Greek Total yoghurt is wonderful :D especially with a few berries. Now I refused to try this for ages because I don't really like yoghurt - silly me!

I use Tesco Double cream - it has 1.6 g carbs per 100 ml. I'm happy with that, so haven't bothered looking for a lower carb one. :)

I would get this cream http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml#/product/48639906 the single cream has only very slightly more carbs if you really don't like double cream.
But I don't like yoghurt so will let someone else answer that ;)

Thanks rowan, the link just takes me to asda home shopping. Is it the asda cream with the blue label?

Thank you Zand I saw the fage one, I will go back tomorrow and get some

Hi Muggle,
The first thing you need is, a magnifying glass, the small print on the pots of yoghurt is very small.
And a lot of it is down to personal taste.
I like yoghurt. On recommendation I bought two small pots of the Fage, one is still in the fridge, I think its disgusting.
The second thing you need is time. I think there's a lot of us that have stood in the yoghurt isle with a pot in each hand, trying to decide which one to choose..
Once you have found the one that is right for you, remember it's good with curry.

Good luck.

Just keep away from the bread and cakes:p

I have been quite good this week, husband asked me to buy him donuts from Asda, he said, but they are only 50p.
Yes I bought him the donuts, and I have not had any. BUT, I made him pancakes, I said I was only going to have one, naughty me I had two, with lemon juice, was very nice.

Make sure you get the full fat fage not the 0% ( which is orrible)

Muggle,
Remember it's only one day at a time.
If you call off the wagon, DON'T worry, we well help pull you back up.
Don't even think of leaving us, we have ways of hunting you down. Lol

I !! Need help, husband has been and bought hotcross buns into the house.
If he toasts them I think I may just kill him. The smell of toasted hotcross buns, is so yummy!

Take the plug off the toaster lol! My daughter did the same tonight with a cinnamon bagel. It smelled sooo good but i stuck with my tuna mayo, gherkin and finn crisps... I still have the fear of god in me after reading all the bad things that can happen with high bg. I had no idea it was so serious until i began feeling cold constantly, needing to sleep all the time and losing my hair, so for now resisting is easy. But I know I will slip up, especially when I get upset. Im definitely an emotional eater and there are times when only chocolate will do...

If you end up not liking the Greek yog, you can always just buy the plain, unsweetened yog in a brand you like. Then tip cream on top. ;)

Ive never tasted it before, im going to have some for breakfast I think. I hope I like it but it sounds like it might be an acquired taste. I hope it's not like the natural yoghurt my dad used to get us to eat when we were kids. That stuff could strip paint lol

What type of choc do you like?

I can suggest many and various ways for you to get your chocolate fix while retaining your low carb halo.
I've put years of dedicated research into this!

If it's chocolate i will eat it. Probably why I'm in such a mess now. After many years in an extremely unhappy marriage chocolate became my best friend and im paying for it now... But feeling sinful while retaining my halo sounds good to me for when im having a weak day so Id be delighted to hear about your ideas. Thank you!!

ALL double cream have carbs, but Tesco & Aldi have double cream slightly higher in fat GOOD fat. My own favourite is the Jersey cream I buy at Farmers Market.
