Depends. Did you have a diabetic hba1c before 2015? Are you taking medication to keep your numbers low? Will you have non diabetic hba1c's if you were to eat a 'standard' diet with the usual extra treats like most non-diabetics do?Would I be correct in stating that I am cured?

If I go by my hba1c's alone I could say that I'm cured. But if I take in account all the insulin I need to inject to keep my numbers low I have my doubts...
Still, great numbers!
You are probably back to where you were before becoming T2 in the first place. In other words, still prone to being T2 again if you let things slide too much. You were susceptible to T2 even before your BGs started to rise so you will still have that susceptibility. But hey, I would be well happy to be in your shoes, so if it looks like a duck etc.
Well done!
In that case I would fly with what @zand wrotehba1c 55 March 2014. No medication. No insulin. I am eating a kfc meal every week as well as a Chinese meal of noodles.

Well done I’d say cured mine was 54mm 3 months later 36mm no meds just diet exercise I still don’t know if I can eat more carbs I’ve not tried yet I know I can eat quavers and some crisps at are under 10grams I’ve got another test Monday I’m hoping for it to be even lower because I’ve lost another 1st 3lb since my last hbc1a I’ve read some can go back to eating normal toWould I be correct in stating that I am cured?
Hi so as long as you stick to low carb and diet and exercise then you can stay reversed. But if u go Bk to your old ways then it will come back so does reversed or remission mean it’s gone away and u have no sign of it ?Yes, I would say cured. Although I have a cured broken foot that will probably come back if I fall off the climbing frame again

Thanks I do feel like I’m not diabetic anymore so what type of carbs can you eat now I’m going try some and test with my meter to see what I can eat again do u drink alcohol to I normally do twice a week only vodka and diet mixers thanks for your helpCorrect that is my outlook. Normal glucose normal insulin = no current pathology. I am not currently diabetic but it happened once so it can definitely happen again. Others feel that they are diabetic if they can’t eat carbohydrate. In the end it’s whatever gets us through the day.

As HbA1c is just an indicator, and often inaccurate, it could be that those diagnosed near the cut-off never were really diabetic. A change of diet or lifestyle may have been enough to head off any further decline. There are those who have just tipped over the cutoff who seem to be able to turn it around.

Do you have a link to the ADA list you quote please? I'd like to get a clearer/larger type size version. It is interesting that the 2011 criteria include a good lipid profile as well as BG profile in their definitions.Well under ADA criteria you're cured, 5 years of complete remission met.
I'm starting to see a pattern with those seemingly able to fully reverse their T2, here & other online forums.
We know that short T2 duration prior to diagnosis & substantial weight loss/lifestyle change is important.
More & more I'm seeing low diagnostic values being advantageous in gaining reversal.
There are those who have just tipped over the cutoff who seem to be able to turn it around.
There are those who are only pre-diabetic, A1c 42-47, who slide into T2 despite their best efforts.
