Type of diabetes
Type 2
Hi

Wasn't diagnosed type 2 until april but wonder if this may be diabetes related.
I take loads of pain meds and enough knock a horse out before bed, having taken same meds for a long time and am really used to them. However occasionally I would take usual meds and they would hit me like a ton of bricks, could never really understand it. On the rare occasion I would feel sleepy very quickly, like I am drunk, confused, couldn't walk in a straight line and partner has to help me up the stairs as stagger and feel really strange. Never quite worked out why, e.g. 9 out of 10 days absolutely fine and then 1 odd days I would react like that. Wondering now if this may have been diabetic related, not happened for a couple of months - only remember it happening once since I started changing diet.

Any ideas? May not be linked but just wondered.

Thanks

Sam

Hi @samsmeat
It could be related but it could be something else entirely.
The symptoms of T2, can also be the symptoms from conditions such as thyroid or other endocrine conditions.

If it was T2 related, then I would think you were either very high or low it it could on these occasions that your blood glucose levels have dropped quickly.
Your body is probably used to running higher numbers and whatever steps you have taken to reduce them by diet or by meds, is causing this.

If you have a monitor and you feel like you have described, test your self to see what is happening.

Diet might be the issue. Record what you eat and you feel. The answer may present itself

Good luck
