As well as now being referred to a consultant endocrinologist from the Hospital Diabetes specialist team, I also have to go for a test for Cushing's Syndrome and I just wondered if anyone is being treated for this disorder.

I haven't got Cushings, but I was tested for it.
They sent me home with white gallon bottles with which to collect more than 24hrs worth of piddle. Had to take the day off work and pee in a pot then funnel it into the gallon jars.
No idea if they still use this test for diagnosis.
Have you looked Cushings up online? The symptoms are pretty specific, and even the consultant said that he didn't think I had it. The test was just for elimination. Eventually they diagnosed me with a benign pituitary gland tumor that produces excess prolactin, instead of cortisol, instead.
I'm guessing that you could get a pretty good idea of whether you have it, or not, from reading up. It'll also let you know what to expect.

Thanks for your reply Brunneria, I have looked it up on the web, and I would say I have 6 of the main 12 symptoms. I haven't heard any more fron the hospital but I understand the test is via a tablet taken at specific time in the in the evening followed by a specifically time blood test in the morning.
You have also reminded that I had the peeing in the bottle test about 8 years ago, followed by a CAT scan which all came back negative (as I recall, the scan was looking for adrenal gland tumours(

I have been tests for it and had to piddle in two container each one over 24 hours then hand them back
The second test was
Blood test then take a tablet every 6 hours day and nite for two days then blood test at same time as you started and it's to a very strict time .
Then I went for mri to see which out of the four place it could be
3 out the 4 are not rite
So diabete dr passed me onto surgern now
So waiting for appointment now
