i was diagnosed T1 in March 2007 and have been on insulin since then. However on an Annual checkup with my consultant he noticed that id put a lot of weight on and various other symptoms, he tested me for cushings syndrome and found that i had a benign tumor on my pituitary gland. i had an op almost three months ago and have recovered quite well.
the thing is my levels went down almost immediately and i have been reducing my meds since.
What id like to know is, has anyone had any experience of Cushings and Diabetes as i would like to know about their experiences and wheather they were cured of diabetes as all my consultant will say is wait and see and will give me no timescales.

Hi tango.

Not sure if you know of the Pituitary Foundation, a UK organisation. They have many links to other organisations regarding Diabetes. Might be worth reading this and maybe even e-mailing them for further information about your particular circumstances.

Here is the link.

Whilst it may be that your levels and meds have come down, I honestly don't think it is a 'cure.' I wish that it were for everyone's sakes.
