No But it is quite normal in diabetics especially when having raised blood glucose . The best one can do is to lower blood glucose more and maybe take vitamin C 500 mg every day and depending How deep the wound is seek professional help and if only superficial wound maybe clean the wound often and use zink creme of some kind
With or without diabetes the healing time can vary from person to person, but they do say people with uncontrolled diabetes take longer to heal as @Freema mentions above.
I heal well from cuts and not had any issues so far.
No, but I'm one of these silly people who if they have a scab will pick it!
Was doing this on my arm after a few scrapes in brambles dealing with an injured Fallow deer fawn this summer. Come October my arm was swollen, self inflicted infection lol. Now treated and healed. As for my bad habit being healed, thats very doubtful!
Hi static192, I know that it takes longer for me to heal a cut compared to when I was younger. I've had type 1 for 40 years now. Of course if you think it has been too long without healing, be sure to consult with your GP or DS.
Age just does extend the time taken for wounds to heal so that could be nothing to do with diabetes.
Good healing just like everyone else should be achievable with blood sugars in range. My recent tattoo healed pretty quick.
If you've got high blood sugar that is likely to extend healing time. So if you have wounds and high blood sugar keep a close eye on them and seek advice from your doctor if you think you need help with avoiding infection.
