Hi all

I'm waiting to go on the DAFNE course I have a Carbs and Cals book but not sure how up to date it is. Is there anything I need to get to help me counting carbs etc. I'm type 2 on two lots of insulin

Does it have a published date at the front? Then you can check online to see if it’s the latest addition. I have the app which I assume gets updated every now & then. It’s not always spot on for everything.

Get some digital kitchen scales if you don’t already have some, being able to weigh ingredients really helps make sure your being accurate.

I write out recipes I use a lot & have an accurate carb count, it helps speed up calculating insulin requirements plus means some meals are very quick go to options when your rushed.

ill check in a mo but i know i have had it for about7ish years when i first got diagnosed the i moved house and found when clearing old things away. i already have digital scales as im trying to cook healthy options for me and my son. the carbs and cals book is 5th edition so about 7 yrs old

https://www.bertieonline.org.uk/ Basically DAFNE but an online version, I did it before getting my pump. There’s also a carb & Cals app that I use for all my meals and find it very accurate
