Starting Dafne in the morning and I haven't a clue what to expect. Guess I'm a bit nervous because it's held 100km away and I'm not too familiar with my surroundings either! Staying there hit the week as it's easier than commuting. What should I expect?

you can expect a group of probably 4-8 people -- mostly type 1's ( not exclusively )
and most likely 2 "teachers" - a DSN and a dietician.

they will have you taking BG's through the day -- it most likely will get put on a public chart for all to see.

they will either provide a lunch - or you bring your own

you will work out the carbs and take a dose based on 1u per 10 carbs ( on the first day -- adjustments to follow if required on following days )

it should be quite a relaxed setting -- and a chance to meet other D's

and lots of info to soak up :)

The course is great, if anything it's a great opportunity to meet others who have the same condition and chat about things. On our last day we all went out for a meal :)

Thanks guys it was exactly how you said!I had a great first day and am looking forward to tomorrow!I found out my latest hba1c is 7.6 down from 10.8 last year and my cholesterol was 3.7 so I'm delighted!
