DAFNYE Course

Hi, I am a type 1, and my team in the hospital told me I had to have diabetes for min. One year before I could attend a DAFNYE course, does anyone know if this is true-thanks
 
Unless its changed had my course within 6~8 months of diagnosis. Personally, I think it should be done at diagnosis, putting people on mdi (multiple daily injections) on set amounts crazy.

Must admit though, through research, within 3 weeks was learning to carb count, basal test, adjust etc myself.

just done it at 6 months, today. They said that was the earliest they'd normally consider. Consultant's opinion was "why not give people the tools they need as early as possible?"

Whereabouts are you Krisjan as some areas differ in policy

I believe its 6 months so that you get use to basal/bolus, anyway there was a lady on my DAFNE course who was only diagnosed 6 months before.
 
There is regional variation and waiting lists differ but the sooner the better.
