Hello can I ask a daft question re carbs, I try to follow a lowish carb diet as the results for are pretty self evident (11 down to 6.6) but I'm still not sure how low is low if you see what I mean.

Obvious carb consumption for me is limited to a couple of slices of bread a day, plus a couple of small potatoes as a sample menu

I don't go as far as counting in the non obvious foods like some vegetables

Does this sound reasonable ?

Once again apologies if this is a daft question

Sounds reasonable.I suggest you get one of the carb counting books such as Collins Gem carb counter or calorie counter, either is good.Personally I don't eat potatoes because they send my blood sugars up quite a bit but everyone is different.Do you have a blood testing meter?

Thats what I did - reduce the obvious carbs to a small amount, & cut out packet b'fast serials. That was enough to eliminate the muscle pains that were threatening to disable me.

I have since got a diet balance, carb counting book & Bernstein, but a sensible reduction, together with more frequent testing, should be sufficient.
