Some interesting stuff there (try not to look at the sidebar of shame) but I am intrigues that Mindfulness as described seems to be part of the usual Yoga practice, as does the breathing exercise. Yet it is supposed to be better than Yoga. Perhaps I just have a good Yoga teacher.

One interesting thing is that stress appears to drive up the BG levels of non-diabetics for a considerable time. This lends credence to the theory that long term stress can bring on diabetes.

Also the claim that cutting down on sugar cuts down on stress.

Thank you for that. It has answered a question I posed on another thread - whether stress affects non-diabetic BS levels as much as it does to us.

I do wonder if me being so cold this winter is anything to do with my weight increase of 6lbs. Nothing I do seems to reduce it. Will have to wait until the weather gets warmer to see if the extra weight goes away.

Dont think the weather can be attributed to weight loss!!

Normally its weightloss that can make people feel colder.... or inactivity.

Have you ever seen a thin whale or a thin polar bear?? Both live in extreme cold easier because of the excess blubber/mass keeping them warm and of course they have different bloods...

Anyway, won the lottery, so off to the bahamas for some weightloss...

Have you had bloods tested for thyroid??

As far as I know, stress (also anger) can lead to a “fight or flight” response. If this happens Cortisol and a whole bunch of hormones (with unpronounceable names) are released. One effect is to ramp up BG levels for extra energy which may be needed. I would think this is a short term effect (but could be wrong)

I listen to meditation on YouTube also helps me to sleep. I am up late at the moment because where I was not well my sleeping pattern has gone all out of whack. I love this to unwind with a glass of red wine......
