I only ate veggies and protein it seems lol. I had some dark chocolate and cashew butter that's probably what pushed it up . I recently learned thar cashews are high l carb. I ordered almond butter and they sent me cashew butter in the food shop order.

I also had about half cup marinated tofu in my stirfry tonight is that too high carb?

A little dark chocolate and cashew butter shouldn't be too bad .
How are you counting your carbs ?

Nice. Thank you ! I just started using chronometer app and that's what it came up with. Lunch was just chicken mayo salad and an apple . Tofu stir fry with broccoli and butter for dinner . Breakfast was yogurt some raspberries and 1 egg with cheese and cherry tomatoes. The dark chocolate nut butter snack and that was all I had today

I don't know this app, but is it an American one? In America the food nutrition labelling is different from in the UK. In America the fibre is added in with it, so needs to be deducted to get the carb content. In the UK the fibre has already been deducted for us.
We have to be careful using any food nutrition information that comes from different countries.

Unless you had some extras you haven't mentioned, I can't see anywhere near 99g of carbs there.

No that's everything in ate. It may be American . I'm in the uk so should I use another app ?

Ok so I got another app send like uk one it's nutra check. It says I've had 61.5 g carbs so that is more like it eh .

It's 65 % fat17% carbs 18% protein is what they broke it into for me .

That's better, I thought the first one was rather high for what you had listed.
If you made your own chicken mayo with full fat mayo I probably wouldn't have counted much for that either.. shop bought can have added sugar. Tofu seems a great choice. I will have to buy some and see if I like that

Hi everyone

So for breakfast I had the pot of full fat Greek yogurt and 1 tbsp flax seeds mixed in and an apple on thr side with a bottle of water . I was 7.1 but 1.5 hour after eating this meal im 8.9

I know it's not the apple because I eat them everyday with a meal normally breakfast or lunch

I hate to say it, but it probably is the apple because apples have a fair number of carbs in them and its possible that you might be one of the people who react badly to carbs early in the day.

Tomorrow try having just the apple and test before eating it then at 1 and 2 hours after to find out what your reaction is to just apples. It's very difficult to work out what the culprit is when you have a meal with several different foods in it.

My money is on the apple. Sometimes it's the thing we least expect that causes the biggest shock. It's been said before, stick to berries and always with full fat plain yogurt or full fat double cream to lessen the spike.

Like most people, you're most likely extremely insulin resistant during the morning.

it's expected for the same apple to have a lesser effect later in the day.

Ahhh I see I didn't realise it could be no tolerance for apples at certain times of the day I just assumed I was ok with them

personally, I cant tolerate anything other than coffee and cream before around midday, so I never eat breakfast.

Surprisingly though, I can tolerate pretty much most carbs in moderation by around 7pm, so that's when I eat and intermittent fast until at least 5pm daily.

Wow that's amazing our bodies are crazy aren't they!

I learned very quickly that none of us are equal in terms of what works and doesn't work.

Just keep testing and you'll figure it all out. Once you do, stick to the plan.
