Hi, I can't advise you but can sympathise. I have numb toes and numb feet. I tingle, have shooting pains mainly in the leg's but also all over. I believe that I have damaged lots of my major nerves from diabetes. Its called diabetic nueropathy. I have even damaged the nerves to my eyes. Diabetes is a *******. You have to get fitter, loose weight and watch what you eat. Try gentle stretching and don't stay in the same position too long, it will help.

Most important of all is to get your blood sugars under control and not let them get too high. This will slow down the progress of any damage that is likely to occur.

I do not know of any evidence that existing damage will heal up.

Hi. It sounds like diabetic neuropathy, and as the squire says the best thing to do is get the BG numbers down. I'm MODY diabetic and while I had the NCV test for non-peripheral neuropathy and got poor results, they decided in the end that this was more due to prolonged B12 deficiency (which damages nerve tissue). Since then I've been on B12 injections and there has been a slight improvement in sensation. For non-peripheral neuropathy like yours it might just be worth asking if they've done a B12 test -- you never know... Good luck!

Have you considered vitamin d supplementation.?
Amongst other typical complications pre diagnosis my fingers would involuntarily tremble randomly.
Now I'm in control of my type 2, i take a multivitamin which contains l cartine, chromium and vitamin d amongst others.
I also take flaxseed, oil and milled.
Hand on heart i rarely now experience these symptoms although i don't claim to have been half as much in pain or discomfort as others.
If you have a kindle may i recommend a good read?
The power of vitamin d.
Dont worry its not by a crank.
Best of luck to you all.
