I’ve been on this drug for a year roughly not taken every day in the beginning but have now for 4/5 months roughly.

who else is on this and how much did you lose

I’ve lost over 2 stone and am at goal weight well for me I’m goal weight.

I’m now worried that’ll keep losing when I really don’t want to.

nurse Tuesday so I’ll be asking if I can come off it as scrawny doesn’t suit me. but the catch 22 is I’ve good blood sugars and it’s down to that and low ish carbing as well. So should I come off or stay on it.

I’m 5ft 3 and 9st 11lbs yup it’s the higher end for my BMI but I’m in my 50s

What a terrific problem to have huh, well done you :)

I have recently been taken off these, I didn’t lose an ounce, I am taking Bisoprolol which is a beta blocker and apixaban which is a anticoagulant, both make people gain weight so maybe that stopped me losing the weight, no idea but hey ho.

I would have happily carried on taking these and stopped the others lol.

Dapa and similar drugs helps you excrete sugar in urine and weight loss follows. So, less sugar in your system and less weight loss should follow:

""The weight loss effect of the drug becomes less and less as the blood-sugar level comes to near normal," he notes. "Therefore the weight loss potential of this drug is very small at normal blood-sugar levels.""

So, have you changed your diet too?

Yes changed my diet to low carb to avoid the UTIs and thrush on between 75-100g of carbs a day sometimes less still losing but no lower than 50g or my blood sugars can go to low.

also it states on the blurb we can’t hypo on this med I disagree as I did not once but a few times mainly through fasting and hard exercise and no breakfast. So if doing the latter I don’t take my dapagliflozin till later in the day.

So it looks like the low carb is the weight loss not the actually drugs as I have read it’s only like half a stone and it stops. 31pounds and still losing for me.
