I’ve just discovered Lindt 90 dark Chocolate
I’ve read it’s very good for Type 2 diabetics I believe I can have 20gm per day . I’m really enjoying it as I haven’t eaten chocolate in a long time Yummy Dark Chocolate It’s made no difference to my BS readings

Unfortunately for me I prefer the slightly higher carb Lindt 85% version. but I agree it's definitely "good stuff". :hungry::hungry:

Cocoa is another great option, and I use cocoa (not chocolate) powder for baking low carb chocolate muffins, etc, occasionally for hot drinks, and mixed with yoghurt or crème fraiche to make me nice choccie puddings.

Doh, I just said to my wife that I'd get some dark choc next week to try and ween myself off cheese which MUST be had with a glass (or so) of red.

Hmm. really it's the wine I need to cut down on not the cheese. But I blame the cheese:angelic:

Scaremongering report about lead and cadmium in lint dark chocolate now! Anyone going to take notice and stop eating it ?
What can we eat as a treat ?

The article speaks of large amounts being harmful.
It's much harder to eat large amounts of a high percentage cocoa chocolate than it is to chomp away a bar of milk chocolate.

Personally, I'm not worried by it.

I agree, just one square of milk chocolate starts me off over indulging, where dark chocolate doesn’t , hence my startled reaction
