Just when things were going so well, James forgot to give his insulin this morning. He stayed at his Grandmother's last night which he has done on many occasions, but when he got up at 10.am his BG was 4.3 so he was going to do his insulin after his breakfast (still with his grandmother) which he has done before, but on this occasion forgot and it was not until his sunday lunch was due that he tested again and his BG was 22.1 OMG he then realised that he did not do it for breakfast.

Thankfully his BG's dropped and his reading before tea was 5.8 PHEW. I know it is an easy mistake to make and it does concern me that this could quite easily happen again.

He is now going to dial up ready and place by his side in future in readiness for injecting straight after his food when the need arises.

I find there's always something happening to keep you on your toes. Thank goodness that episode is over :D

Diabetes gives you so many opportunities to make mistakes and we are all only human. At least you got the reading down and he would not have been high for too long.

Don't worry yourself too much, these things happen. I guess next time you could just call or text him. On the plus side - he had a lovely day with Grandma and next time he goes i'm sure it won't be overlooked again.

these things do happen, try not to worry..glad everythings bk to normal :D

At least now it's happened you also know it's easily corrected too, everyone makes mistakes. I've done it a few times myself, as i'm sure many others have too!

Likewise here.
It happens, just fix and move on :)

One of my best mistakes with dosing was mixing up my levemir and rapid pens and giving myself my levemit dose with rapid. At 20 some units it was quite a bit.
Just shows what happens when you aren't paying attention but as long as you catch it then no harm no foul :)
