Dating a diabetic

My boyfriend has type one diabetes and I am really trying to be supportive but there is many difficulties and questions I have.
He has psuedoseizures (which are non epileptic seizures) and he become extremely disoriented and has to have periods of recovery after them. Does anyone out there have any ideas why? The doctors have no clue. He is also celiac.
Also, he said that his blood sugar was going up from talking to me because he got excited. Is this typical? And does that happen when you get turned on or only from like happy excitement?
 
HI. It is difficult for any of us to help much remotely but a few questions. Does your boyfriend monitor his blood sugars regularly thru the day as needed in conjunction with his insulin injections. I do wonder whether his 'seizures' may some times actually be diabetic hypos due to the blood sugar going below 3-4 mmol? The symptoms you describe are similar. Make sure he is aware of his blood sugar readings during or shortly after one of these seizures. I'm surprised at him saying that his sugars go up when getting excited. I don't think many of us would expect our sugars to rise by much, if any, thru short term emotional changes. Obviously there may be medical conditions we are not aware of causing these effects.
 
Stress and excitement can elevate bg readings. I don't know if your boyfriend is under the care of his gp practice for his diabetes, if this is the case then a referral to the diabetes clinic at his local hospital might be helpful here.
