Daughter type 1 diabetic and thyroid

Hi, can anyone help went to hospital today with my 9yr old daughter who recently has been diagnosed type 1 diabetic, have been told that in 1 months time have to go back and have another blood test to re-check her thyroid, what does this mean, does it mean they have found a problem with her thyroid as well ?

What it probably means is that the team are on the ball and are just carrying out a number of checks on your daughter. This should always happen when newly diagnosed.

Try not to worry, however if you are then it is best to phone and speak to someone about your concerns. Put your mind at rest.
