What do you do to have lower blood sugar readings in the AM if you have dawn phenomen? what can be done. Thanks and have a great and successful day in your diabetic walk.

It is a very individual problem which I suffer from myself. In my own case I used to be very concerned about it when it first started appearing. Often my fasting BG is the worst reading of my day. As the years passed and my post-prandial peaks and A1c remained good with no complications appearing I have become less concerned.

My main method to keep it reasonable is to always have a bed-time snack. I vary them: a slice of toast, or a small portion of psylliium, nuts and muesli, or cheese on a cracker or just a glass of red wine. That helps, but does not completely fix my problem.

Reports of successful snacks by others vary widely so it's best to perform your own experiments until, hopefully, you find the one that works for you. A minority never does, and others find that the only solution for them is basal insulin. If you want more on the nitty-gritty detail of why it happens, read this: I Ate Nothing! Why Are My BGs high?
