Well day 12 has arrived and after the panic on Monday re: ketones and a visit to A&E things are going very well. I've had 3 adjustments to date and now have different basal ratios for 6-9, 9-midnight and midnight to 6am (0.60, 0.55 and 0.50 respectively). Ive tweaked my carb ratio from 1;10 all day to 1:7.5 breakfast, 1:7 lunchtime and 1:10 supper. I'm amazed that the 0.05 adjustments in basal that y consultant had got me to adjust has made such a difference. I go to bed between 5 and 8 and I wake up between 5 and 8 - this is just such a huge and wonderfull step forward to my usual nighttime highs and lows,. Let's hope this patter continues and at the moment Pete my pump is defiantly my new best friend. I hope the rest of the new pumpers continue to see improvements and stable BSs as a change.  8)

Sounds like it's going well, even after a slight hiccup.

I personally felt the biggest acheivement for me pump wise was cracking those overnight BG's. If you think it's a very large part of your day so it will help your overall control and that hb1ac get better and better!

My basal doses are pretty much twice what yours are, but i recently increased mine 0.05 over the full 24 hours out of frustration of what seemed like constant higher readings than i was used to, and boy has it made a difference, pulled those 7's and 8's back down to the 5's and 6's where i much prefer to be :)

I've also gone back to the drawing board with my ratios, usually mine are close but not very varied over the 3 time blocks. I've gone back to a basic 2.5u:10g which is working pretty good surprisingly.

Hope your progress continues, small changes with the pump can make a big big difference sometimes so as always make sure your meter is you best friend too! lots of testing will guide you well when tweaking in the beggining.

I was testing upward of 10 times a day at first, may the good BG's continue Riri :)
