Hi all, have had a really good experience today, ever since my 4 year old was diagnosed 5 months ago I have been so panicky about going out and about just in case something was to happen, so today was such a lovely day and I bit the bullet and suggested a trip to our local wildlife park and it was a total success, we had a fab day and diabetes was not an issue, we did our usual carb counting, injections and finger pricks just in a different environment, I definitely feel better leaving my comfort zone now

Hi @Diamummy_ that's great!
I find it a challenge to go out - I'm type1, my 2 yr old type1 diagnosed in Dec and I have baby twins with other health issues....
But I'm determined to get out - just means I have about 5 bags of things to cart about including hypo treatments. You just have to learn to work round things and be prepared (my car is also full of various food/hypo treatments/baby milk! in case of delays).
Hope you get out again soon x

Wow @1Sarah1 you really have a lot to cope with, I also have a 2yr old and a 9 month old so I know what you mean about lots of bags, it is hard work but so rewarding when the kids are so happy, I hope you are able to get out with your little ones and that they are all ok

I used to feel the some when my granddaughter was diagnosed ( aged 2 1/2 yrs, I looked after her on some days and she lived with me for 2 weeks) a bit scary at first, but no problem after that. Glad you had a stress free day out and an enjoyable one too.
Best wishes RRB
