DCUK Posters on Surgery Wall

Well done @Listlad for your tenacity. Hope the noticeboard gives lots of food for thought........... low carb of course. I always read the notice boards as do most patients in our health centre, nobody has their nose stuck in a mobile as the practice policy is to switch it off. I'd luv to see what the finished board looks like
Yes, thanks for that. I have taken a short cut and printed off two posters, kindly furnished by DCUK. They should fill most of the board. Both posters include the web address. It will be a first to see DCUK material in my two surgeries.

Although for many of us, heart failure might ensue if we walked into our surgeries and saw DCUK stuff on the wall.

@Listlad I didn't know which emoji to use............ funny defo but wouldn't want anyone to pop at the sight of a poster:hilarious:

It also says that lowering cholesterol is integral, too. Hogwash!

Well it’s a good job that I haven’t selected that one for the surgery wall then. LOL.

Two Diabetes.co.uk posters are now on my surgery main noticeboard until the date of our next PPG meeting on December 3rd. The Diabetes.co.uk, colourway, logo and forum website address are as clear as a bell in the main waiting room just below the surgery information screen. Both are approximately A3 in size. This is not a quantum leap forward but every little helps. I have been at this surgery for 2.5 years now and never heard or seen a squeak of diabetes.co.uk until of course today.

Good news. After losing the possibility of Debandez manning a stall at our local Self Care Event next week, our PPG (Patient Participation Group) chairman has gathered a collage of material as a backdrop to the PPG stall including the two Diabetes.co.uk posters, the Teaspoons of Sugar infogram and some material encouraging low carb dieting for T2 diabetics. He and one or two NHS staff will man the stall.

Copies of @Debandez leaflets will be handed out to the passing public.

These are the two posters that were posted on our surgery wall for a month, the month of Diabetes Awareness:

They clearly include the website address of Diabetes.co.uk

Okay so the numbers have increased since the posters were created but the message is still being conveyed. They also appeared at our local Self Care event though the event was quiet, so I am told. The two large posters will remain in the main waiting area until replaced by other flyers conveying other areas of interest on health.

They will then end up on the wall in the waiting area outside the rooms where the nursing staff hold their clinics.

It is hard to be sure how effective they have been but surely on the wall better than not.

(I read a tweet by a healthcare practioner a few days ago, who when handing out advisory leaflets actually crosses out the reference to diabetes.org.uk and writes in place the diabetes.co.uk address instead.)

Banging the drum for diabetes.co.uk

So eventually the 2 posters had to come down off the waiting room wall to make way for some posters on alcoholism and smoking. One of the diabetes.co.uk posters is now in the waiting area opposite the rooms where the diabetes nurses hold their clinic sessions.
