Dealing with my 7 year old diabetic granddaughter

hI KRISTEN,
I would look into stress response if there is nothing personally wrong. Yu say that she and your son are dealing with stuff right now. if this is to do with mother then this would have a great emotional effect.
When I am stressed I vomit- cant stop it. Also when I was young I used to deliberately make myself go hypo so I could go home- especially in biology lessons.

this would probably not be a diabetic thing directly but will effect the diabetes. Stress makes us release many chemicals which effect the body and the blood sugars.

However I did go onto an insulin once which did not agree with me and as a result I vomited often- it caused me to produce lots of catarrh which made me vomit- especially after food as it would sit on top of it. But there would be evidence of catarrh at other times also.
I would talk to her about bullying and the school and find out if she is unhappy at school and get the school to keep a record of what she has done just before she is sick and what she after- see if there is a pattern. Maybe have them agree that you will go in and check her over but she wont go home etc
good luck - it must be a worry- I am also on a pump by the way and now on pig insulin due to intolerance to human
