I. came across these same judgmental people, criticising my body weight, my T2, my lack of effort to lose weight, to be 'normal', to be ' healthy', getting frustrated in my life choices, to do more, to accept that I would never be fit again, to accept that the diabetes was a life sentence. And on top of that, every one them agreed, that the eighteen stone, the 40" waistline, the high glucose readings, the continuous horrible symptoms, the sleep deprivation, the anxiety, the desperation of being unable to live with the diabetes, the loss of work and it was just going to get worse. These people, these so called excuses for a tolerant society, caring for those that need it, the lack of clear dietary advice, the total ignorance of how diabetes should be treated. These people, who all had very good education and are paid to help, advise and treat these conditions to try and get the patient back to health by understanding what the hell is going on and never treat us all the same, we are all different! These people, which includes doctors, one a diabetic specialist, dsns, health care providers, dieticians, and one endocrinologist all thought I had T2 diabetes and assumed for over a decade that I had diabetes and everything they said I should do was causing more damage to my health and my mind. I was due a rant! Apologies to those really good doctors, dsns and specialists who have discovered that something as simple as dietary advice can work, it's not only sugar, it's carbs!
