Nine months suspended for making an attempt to take somebody’s life seems lenientAfter reading the article about the drunken women who gave her partner an overdose of Insulin, I was intrigued about the aspects of deliberately trying to cause serious harm or even kill a person with Type 1 diabetes, I think many of us know of the nurse who administered Insulin to children in her care. Isn't it strange that Insulin keeps us alive, yet in the minds of some unscrupulous people, it can be a killer, some Interesting stories about this :-

I have thought that when I am having a really bad hypo how close the line is between life and death and how half a bottle of lucozade is all it takes to bring me around.. Imagine not being diabetic and being injected with a dose.. That really would be frightening.. Lucozade's no good then!!
I have a condition called Reactive Hypoglycaemia.
I produce too much insulin.
Before diagnosis, I had hyperinsulinaemia, caused by mainly, too much circulating insulin, insulin resistance and because of these circumstances, Hyperglycaemia.
I would consistently go between hyper and hypo, depending on what I ate and how often!
I was unaware of my predicament and it could have easily been fatal!
What was actually happening was it was slowly killing me, as the visceral fat became more prevalent around my organs, my health was deteriorating as the roller coaster ride of hormone imbalances took its toll!
I honestly believe that I would not be around now, except for my endocrinologist and finding this forum for dietary advice.
Funny, when you think and continually being told to eat so called healthy food, when it was actually killing me!
Too much insulin is really bad for you!
