Delayed Carb Reaction?

Yesterday I was a very naughty person and ignored my diabetes. I ate roughly what I would have had before diagnosis and had about 140g of carbs - nearly double what I have these days. My bs spike around 10 several times, but not too bad. My bedtime was back to 6

This morning I feel like death warmed up, just the way I used to feel every day. My fasting was 8. And even though I have been back on the wagon all day, so far my bs hasnt dipped below 7.8 and is just beginning to fall an hour ago and I am only just beginning to get my mind clear again.

So is there a delayed reaction to carbs and can the effect linger for a day or two when I let my guard down and have too many carbs?

PS I didnt have an alcohol so no hangover. And it has show me how ill I used to feel all the time, and how much better I am now.

Hi lucy

Don't know the answer to your question but I find it interesting how just a small blip can have such an effect.

Not been there yet and not pretending it wont happen but your experience has helped act as a little reminder of why the new way of life is a good one

thanks
