Hi All,

I am due to be going through this soon as I am allergic to Insulin.

I wasa put onto insulin a while ago and took a VERY bad reaction, they tried every Insulin possible, even uncommon ones (so i'm told) but my body said No *cough* hee hee

Has anyone ever been through this therapy or any ideas what it is like?

I have been somewhat informed of the process but OMG it sounds VERY VERY scary ..... basically was told that they pump you full of insulin constantly to stop you being allergic. Now I dunno if this is what happens or not but I know the physical and mental pain I was in before when my allergy appeared, i don't wanna go through that again. Its been 18 months and I still have the scars on my leg and tummy.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Tartan,

I had tried to avoid googling, mainly as I seem to get it wrong and end up working out the complete opposite of what it is.

Sometimes being suitably dumb is good ............... but I shall go forth and google. :)

I had a quick look on google and found a few.

Desensitisation remains the preferred treatment for people with allergic reactions to insulin, although reactions to human insulin are so rare that no final conclusion on treatment can be drawn.

I found this though, what bothered me about this was .......... i was allergic to the human one too :(.

Sorry I don't know anything about it, but I do wish you well with what sounds scary
