Design your perfect product

If you could have a carrying kit which carried diabetic equipment , what would you like the on the kit? and what would you like the kit to contain? should it be small and sleek or something which carry's everything? leave your ideas below! Many thanks! :)
 
2 pens
5-10 needles, plus a bit of segregation of used needles
20 test strips
meter

About the form factor of a kndle in a cover, but thicker in all likelihood.
That would be enough for 1-2 days, and in a decent looking cover would not attract too much attention in a restaurant or other social setting.

I would typically carry more with me when away for a week, but it would be back in my hotel room, or in my laptop bag.

Think before designing anything id say ya need to think of where and when ya gona be using it, for me id like something I can take with me just for the day. I currently only do two injections a day, but if I was thinking about a design to accomadate people on levemir and Nova rapid etc id want to be able to get them at half the current length. think there 300ml so 150ml to take out for the day. so in my case youd have 2 pens one of each but half the size, strips lancets needle tips. all these will be in square sleek as possible containers that will stay in the case and each morning ud get your supply from home and refill the containers in the case. The case itself would be rectangle but a hard case something like your glasses cases but a pocket size and slender with no zip just a hard shut. to get this everything needs to be square or rectangle shapes and not the round tubs ya get for your strips. a small compartment for your waste which can be desposed of at home and maybe a small tube of hypo gel which I personally don't use. theres all sorts of idea. I can think of loads ha ha but a cure would still be better :thumbup:

The smaller and sleeker the better... and yet still able to fit all my stuff in. Now there's a challenge. :wink: I hate having to carry a handbag around, I'm not a girlie girl. If I could fit it all in my fleece's pocket I would.

On a daily basis I'm carrying around 2 insulin pens, 5-6 needles for these, testing machine (I've now got the iBG Star which makes life a lot easier!), testing strips (the pot is annoyingly bulky compared with the meter!).

A kit that could carry this, plus somewhere to put used needles/strips would be good. A slim pocket to put in ID info in case it gets lost. Oh, and ideally protect the contents from getting too warm.

On a cosmetic basis; an option of different looks for different people. Plain for those who like it (there's a lot of those already on the market), patterns that will appeal to kids (currently limited amount of those on the market) and some funky, fun colours/patterns (very few to non existent currently).

I'm not at all demanding, am I? It will be interesting to see what you come up with, looking forward to it.

No your not demanding! Actually I've took all these points together and placed them into a design! So far its looking great , thanks for the ideas!

great point, of all the things I carry, the pot of test strips is by far the most wasteful of space, 50 strips could fit in a pot a fraction of the size. You could probabaly shrink the meter down some as well.

With the pens, I'm not sure how much smaller you could make them as the length of the plunger to drive the insulin out of th evial dictates the overall length to an extent. Smaller vials would work for me, being on 20-25 units a day total, but may not work for others.
 
Would love a case to just carry my pen, some spare needles and an insulin cartridge. The case my novopen came in is rigid and I always manage to open it upside down so the contents fall out. Would love a simple leather case to pop into my handbag.
