So prunes wrapped in bacon, a Christmas tradition. Please tell me they aren't so bad in carbs if I have a couple - but I think they will be ....

Angels on horseback is Oysters wrapped in bacon, devils usually prunes ... But many deviations :)

Re prunes - it's the carbs in any dried fruits that you need to watch for as they're more concentrated, but plums in wrapped bacon somehow don't quite have the same appeal do they!

Robbity

I think you can reckon about 5+ g of carbs per prune. Very concentrated carbs (like all dried fruit).
So it kind of mounts up quickly.

I used to take prunes dipped in melted 70% choc to parties

It was hysterical
Most people recoiled in horror and left the plate well alone
The adventurous few would try a one
Most of them would chew doubtfully until a look of revelation crossed their faces
Then the plate would empty - fast!

Baked asparagus spears wrapped in bacon strips - yummmmmmmmmmmmmm :)
Agree but the asparagus must be local IMHO "Local food tastes miles better" Perhaps I should start a campaign to move xmas to May :)
On topic @PenfoldAPD I think you have the same problem as me, you wont stop at one.................

snosage wrapped in bacon

is obviously the better choice, thanks mist

Going to do a few tests to see how it affects me - but come Christmas/Boxing Day just relax and eat what the hell I want!

The problem I have is that eating all the carby xmas stuff makes me feel so dreadful that it ruins the whole day. And the next one.

So it is actually a kind of self-preservation to stay low carb.

Gives me a great incentive to glut on all those divine LC treats, fat bombs, baked cheesecakes, roasted meats, steaks, cheese and dark choccies.

Oh, the deprivation! :D

I had deep fried chicken wings with no batter just salt and pepper with blue cheese and sour cream dipping sauce. Yum and BG just went up .5
I can't believe I'm loosing weight eating like this.
Oh well I did have some celery sticks too.
