Hi All,
I am a newby here despite having had type 1 for 64 years
I have been using Libre Freestyle 2 for some months now but keep having issues with sensor disconnecting from my phone. I spoke to my DN who has offered me the new Dexcom 1+ to try. Has anyone any experience with this sensor

Hi @Iain Byrne , welcome to the forums! I don't have experience with using Dexcom ONE+ as a Type 1, but recently did a comparison of Libre 2, Libre 2+ and Dexcom ONE+ alongside each other as Type 2. I’ve used L1 and L2 since they became available, and whilst it was a game changer, I did experience inconsistencies in sensor accuracy. As a good one got towards the end the impending change became stressful. Abbott were good as gold changing them, but it was the couple of days of uncertainty and having to call them. So I eventually decided to switch to the One+. If the L2+ had become available I’m sure I would have gone for that, because I was comfortable with the L2.

I have just finished my fourth one, and initial impressions are great. The device is very accurate as far as I can see. I have never had signal problems with either, so I’d look elsewhere for that. But the One+ functionality is good, arguably better. I like the presentation of the data in the app, but do find data input clunky.

For example, when I have breakfast I have to enter FOUR separate notes. Meal carbs, 4 taps, fast insulin, 4 taps, slow insulin, 4 taps, note (detail of what I’m eating - just me not necessary). It is much more clunky than the LibeLink app IMHO. I am getting used to it now. So is my wife - she commented on how long it took me to do a meal entry with out me saying.

The app also gives you useful info on the Lock Screen with out having to go past that in many cases. EG acknowledging alerts.

i would recommend the switch. So far.
 
Thanks Barry, what phone do you use for Dexcom 1+ as I downloaded the 1+ app for iOS and it told me it was still in testing phase and to use results with caution
 
I use a Pixel 6a. Android 14.

I tried to load the app for my iPad, but was just told “no”, not supported. It is a 2024 Air, so I’m not surprised they haven’t got around to it yet, but I would bet if they have made it available it is likely to be ok. I’ve always been a bit rash with updates never wanting to be behind the curve.
 
I have a 2022 iPad Pro M1 and Dexcom don’t support that for the 1+ app but do support the Clarity app.
I suppose their thinking is you always have your phone hence the 1+ app but don’t always carry your iPad
