It all depends, really on where your BG are. For example I find that If mine are within normal range, they are bang on instant. However if they are low there is a lag between your bg coming up and the reading on the dexcom which I estimate at around 15 mins. The Dexcom doesn't actually measure the blood glucose it measure the interspatial fluid in your tissues. I find the same when I'm correcting from a high there is a slight lag but maybe only 5-10 mins. From the research I did before I got it I think the manufacturer suggests 15 mins. But as with everything in diabetes it's hard to be truly accurate with a set time limit as it will vary on times days and set location, etc.
