I have heard you can do this any tips? I'm guessing when the 7 days is up I just keep it in and double check the readings with meter readings? Thank you

To make sure it stays in use some stuff called skin tac @iHs uses something else. coat the bottom of the sticky pad with it wait a few secs and apply the sensor to your skin, I then add some more tac to the top side of the pad and place some hydro film over the tape and surrounding skin so all stays dry thus can't fall off.
I can use the CGM 24/7 365 days of the year using anything between 5 and 6 boxes of sensors.

As @CarbsRok says, I use skintac + flexifix tape (10cm wide) in a X over the sensor and then place a square with a whole cut out of the middle to secure the cross. I apply to the back of my arm and get my sensors to last 28-30 days each time now. When the 7 days is up, just stop the sensor, and restart, and let it go through the 2 hour initiation.

I've not been using SkinTac, just Opsite when the standard plaster starts to lift and my last two sensors have lasted 27 and 24 days.

What I do note is that once I get into the 4th week of a sensor, they require additional calibration and the data is more noisy. although I'm not sure whether this is down to age of the reagent in the sensor (and it starting to run out) or it becoming less well fixed to my arm...

I used the skin tac, I bought some from an eBay seller I want to avoid getting it wet really but seeing as it's on my stomach that will be difficult! Ok so your using around 2 sensors per month to get by, where do you get your sensor packs from? The problem I have is my diabetic nurse didn't know what a dexcom was and seemed sceptical! Do I need to go through the nurses to find a rep? Thanks for your help

Ohh I will buy some of that tape to help it stick! Only on day 2 at the moment and loving the Dex already! It's worrying as I went to 2.2 yesterday and didn't feel anything if it wasn't for the dex buzzing like crazy!

If you are on a buying spree, and you've not already heard about or read them, Sugar Surfing and Think Like a Pancreas are two excellent books that really help you exploit the CGM perfectly.

Was that actually a DSN at hospital clinic, or just a nurse at the gp? You don't need to buy through a rep or a nurse, just contact dexcom directly using their new uk contact details. So long as you are paying, I'm pretty sure they will sell to anyone & there aren't any restrictions on who they can sell to because it's not a medicine.

This was the same as the DSN at my previous diabetic clinic 12 months ago ... they had a poster for the libre, but knew nothing about it and had sent the demo pack back to abbott. I find it hugely depressing and concerning that any professional that is specialising in diabetes wouldn't know about the upcoming products or technologies - whether they are in a diabetes clinic or a GP surgery!?

No my diabetic nurse at the diabetic centre in the hospital, she went and asked the dietician specialising in diabetes and they both hadn't heard of it, so I showed them the website. Without doing my own erase arch and hearing tips/advice from others such as yourselves I do t know what I'd do!! Ok I'll try that today

Same situation as me, I felt like I was educating them, and I've been diagnosed only since January! Also I have to wait a year to go on the carb counting course, which I'm really keen to do! But I asked about how protein and fat in food will effect my readings and was told I'm taking on too much to soon

My only regret is that I bought ebook versions, and I found it difficult (impossible) to flip backwards and forwards across pages/sections. From now on I have vowed to only buy reference books in paper format, as I like using little post-it arrows!

That is shockingly poor that a practicing DSN in a hospital diabetic clinic had not heard of CGM / dexcom / libre. I'm appalled!
