Dexcom G6 constant sensor error wait 3 hours!

Hi all,

In march I was put on the omnipod 5 with Dexcom G6. It all started off so well but since June I keep suffering with sensor error - wait up to 3 hours on the Dexcom.

Dexcom have replaced 4 sensors but it seems every sensor I put on after 4 days I start getting this error. I’ve had to temporarily remove the pump and go back to injections.

Dexcom are reluctantly sending a new transmitter but are convinced this is not the issue.

Anyone else suffered with this and if so any advice?

have you tried different placement eg right upper/lower arm alongside stomoch and indeed perhaps (upper buttock). should be trying to avoid any particularly 'lean' areas. need a little bit of fat and not bony area. https://www.dexcom.com/en-GB/faqs/where-can-i-insert-my-g6-sensor

careful of distance to pump need to be a little bit away approx 10cm from injection site/pump placement.

Hey, thanks so much for your reply.

I was hoping to wear it on my stomach and have seen pics online of people fat leaner than me (wash board lean) with it there ☹️ perhaps their just lucky or it’s just advertising ‍♀️

Spoke to Dexcom yesterday and they’ve advised to switch to back of the arm. Not wishing to tempt fate but so far so good. Just got to hope the pump re learns my bodies ways as the constant sensor wussies seem to have thrown its algorithm off!
