Dexcom monthly subscription plan

Sorry if this is old news (couldn't see any threads about it) but thought I'd share that Dexcom are now offering a monthly payment plan. There are 2 options:

1) £160 per month for 4 transmitters and 28 sensors a year (= £315 saving off RRP)
2) £220 per month for 4 transmitters and 48 sensors a year (= £620 saving off RRP)

Given that most people get at least 2 weeks out of each sensor I can't see option 2 being very popular.

I realise it's still very expensive and, with Libre potentially being available on prescription, may not be of interest to many people but just thought I'd share.
 
It's an interesting model for sure @pinewood. The option 1 model works out slightly more expensive than using xDrip and replacing sensors if, like me, you get less than 3 weeks out of a sensor, but I reckon that you could sell the spare transmitter on for little loss.

Just a caveat, they won't allow you to sign up while your current transmitter is still in period (at least, that's what I was told).
 
Didn't realise you cannot sign up until you are needing a new transmitter that is a bit rubbish as I have just got a new one. I like the look of the first option as I get somewhere around 2.5-3 weeks so that would suffice and hopefully I will find places to stretch that, then with any additional probably just buy 1 transmitter at the end of a year before starting a new plan when out of sensors again, going to be a bit of juggling to get the best money saving but think it could work for me. I don't use xdrip though as have a iphone so would not gain from an additional transmitter than required.

Even if I don't manage to make any additional savings I feel that the £250 a year above the cost of a libre is well worth what I get out of the dexcom and the increase accuracy I find it has.
 
The impression I get from this forum is that Dexcom is a better CGM overall. I forget how much more you pay for it over Libre though. For a year.
 
I am unsure of the funding around Dexcom in the ROI. I have signed up for more information from them anyway to see what's the story. I suspect it isn't funded.
